About the Division
The Patrol Division is the Rowlett Police Department’s primary direct-service provider to our citizens. Patrol’s mission is to provide prompt, courteous service and protection to the citizens of Rowlett 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Responsibilities
The City of Rowlett is divided into four geographical areas called districts. Officers assigned to each district are responsible for:
- Responding to the service needs of our citizens
- Conducting preventative patrols within neighborhoods and business districts
- Addressing problem traffic areas
- Enforcing traffic laws
- Partnering with other municipal departments to ensure the upkeep and safety of officers’ assigned areas
Shifts
Officers serve on either the day- or night-shift. Day shift takes place from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, and night shift takes place from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am. Each patrol shift is assigned three sergeants and a lieutenant designated as a Division Commander.
