Patrol Division

About the Division

The Patrol Division is the Rowlett Police Department’s primary direct-service provider to our citizens. Patrol’s mission is to provide prompt, courteous service and protection to the citizens of Rowlett 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Patrol Division consists of 34 police officers, 8 corporals, 8 sergeants, and 2 lieutenants. For more information on the Patrol Division, contact us at 972-412-6246.

Responsibilities

The City of Rowlett is divided into four geographical areas called districts. Officers assigned to each district are responsible for:

  • Responding to the service needs of our citizens
  • Conducting preventative patrols within neighborhoods and business districts
  • Addressing problem traffic areas
  • Enforcing traffic laws
  • Partnering with other municipal departments to ensure the upkeep and safety of officers’ assigned areas

Shifts

Officers serve on either the day- or night-shift. Day shift takes place from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, and night shift takes place from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am. Each patrol shift is assigned three sergeants and a lieutenant designated as a Division Commander.
