Support Services Division

Division Functions

The Support Services Division is considered the backbone of the Rowlett Police Department and consists of several sections:

  • Records is responsible for distributing, maintaining, and storing all reports that are generated by the Police Department.  Other services include:
    • Open Records Requests
    • Background clearance Letters
    • Alarm Permits
    • Solicitor’s Permits
    • Accident Report Copies
  • Communications Division
    • The Communications Center is where all 9-1-1 and non-emergency police, fire and medical calls are received.  Using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software, Communications Officers prioritize calls and relay information to emergency responders via an 800 MHz, trunked radio system.  They also dispatch for Animal Services and are responsible for activating the weather emergency sirens in the event of severe weather in the area.
