Rent the Block Party Trailer

Block Party Trailer Header image

Before moving forward, we want you to keep a few things in mind:

  • Check the calendar on this page to ensure the trailer is available for the day you wish to request it for the block party.
  • The trailer rental application will now look a bit different, hopefully, it will help ease the process for you and our team. For this new application process, you will have to create a MYGOV account (unless you already have one). Please read the following "BPT APPLICATION-HOW TO NAVIGATE THROUGH MYGOV" to help guide you.
  • Fill out the application to secure the trailer. Keep in mind that if you need street closures, plan to let us know at least a month in advance. Closing streets does require public safety notification, so give yourself plenty of time.

BPT APPLICATION

  • Provide us a map showing the trailer drop-off location (Feel free to use the City of Rowlett Interactive Map to select the site, Click here for easy interactive map access http://emap.rowlett.com/emap/ )
  •  Sign and fill out the Permit Application Form, and Liability Waiver (The permit application will ask for the signature of approval from all neighbors within 200 feet from where the event will take place.)

Liability Waiver

Permit Application Form

  • If you plan to serve food, please get in touch with the Health Service Division at 972-412-6125, or email - healthservices@rowlett.com. In most cases, a food permit is not required, but there are instances when you may need one. After speaking with you, the Health Department will let us know if a temporary food permit is required for your event.
  • Once all of the required documentation (mentioned above) is completed, you will be contacted by a Neighborhood Planner to confirm your request.
  • There is a $35 nonrefundable fee for the use of the trailer. You may stop by our front desk at 5702 Rowlett Rd or pay over the phone at 972-412-6125.
  • Be sure to return all paperwork and pay the fee at least a week prior to your Block Party date.
  • The Neighborhood Planning team will issue a formal permit and follow up with you to schedule the trailer drop off and pick up.
  • For further questions, please reach out to us at 972-412-6165.

Pickup and Dropoff

If you have requested the BPT, we will schedule a drop-off time with an adult over the age of 18. Usually, the trailer will be dropped off on a Friday afternoon and will be retrieved on the following Monday. Do you want to have a block party on a Thursday? No problem! We can work together and accommodate your request. If you need street closure we will work with the police and fire departments for approval.
