The Rowlett Youth Advisory Council is comprised of seven regular members and three alternates who are sophomores, juniors or seniors appointed by the City Council in May and will serve one-year terms from August to June of the following academic year.

Board Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities of the Rowlett Youth Advisory Council include: acting in an advisory capacity to provide observations and make recommendations to the City Council regarding the needs and wants of Rowlett’s youth; educating the youth participants in the local political process; members will serve as messengers for the City of Rowlett and assist City Council in outreach to the youth in Rowlett; and will assist the City by volunteering for local City events.
Time Commitment
The Rowlett Youth Advisory Council meets once a month, August through June with the month of July off.

Are you looking for ways to give back to the community? If so, we have a spot for you! We’re looking for committed residents willing to volunteer a few hours of their time each month to serve on a board or commission.
Applications (PDF) are available in the City Secretary’s Office in the City Hall Municipal Center at 4000 Main Street. For applicants under the age of 18, Waiver of Liability must be completed and notarized before application will be considered complete. For applicants 18 and over, a Waiver of Liability is not required.
Completed applications can be dropped off at the City Secretary’s Office or emailed to the City Secretary’s Office. Deadline to apply for the 2023-2024 service year is April 28, 2023.
