Release of Property or Evidence

Property and evidence is released by appointment only. Persons wishing to arrange for the release of property held by the Rowlett Police Department should contact Officer Nations at  972-412-6214 or by Email for an appointment.

Section Duties

The Property and Evidence Section maintains evidence and property which includes items listed below:

  • Evidence Items: items that have evidentiary value such as drugs, fingerprints, and other forensics.
  • Recovered Stolen Property: items that may have been stolen from you or someone else which may have been recovered in another criminal case.
  • Found property: property that has been located by a police officer or other citizen and turned in to the property room for safe keeping since the owner was unknown at the time the property was found.

Additionally, the Property and Evidence officers are responsible for the Rowlett Police Department's quartermaster function, maintaining a wide array of uniform items and expendable supplies.
