First Aid and CPR Classes

American Heart Association Standard First Aid/CPR classes are offered to anyone 16 years or older.  The cost is $50.00 each.  Every person will receive a book and a two-year course completion card. Please click below to sign up.  *This class is not for healthcare professionals*

Citizen’s Fire Academy

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to put on 50 pounds of gear and put out a fire? Rowlett Fire Rescue offers a nine-week class that gives you hands-on experience including CPR, pulling a fire hose, vehicle extrication, and more. The class is held every Thursday evening at 7:00pm. It’s free to Rowlett citizens!

Block Parties

We visit neighborhood block parties to show off the engines and medical units. We enjoy meeting our neighbors! Remember that your application (PDF) for a Block Party Permit must be completed and approved by several city departments at least 10 working days prior to your event date. Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT)CERT Class 58 Feb 2016

The Rowlett Citizen Corps Council will sponsor a two-day Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) class Saturday, February 4 & 11, 2023 from 8AM - 6PM.  Both days are required.  Rowlett is actively recruiting residents to be trained in the CERT program that includes Disaster Medical Operations, Light Search and Rescue, and Fire Suppression following FEMA guidelines.  The class is open to the public.  A course fee of $20 covers class administrative expenses.  For more information or to register for class, see our website at
