Duties and responsibilities of the Planning and Zoning Commission include:
The Planning and Zoning Commission has two one- to two-hour meetings per month. In addition to the monthly meetings, members are required to attend joint meetings as called with the City Council. These meetings are typically scheduled on months that have a fifth Tuesday so it is conceivable that on those months the commissioners would have three meetings to attend. Members are also required to attend at least one seminar per year for training related specifically to planning and land-use regulations and trends. Such training will be funded by the City. For additional information, see the Planning and Zoning Department.
