Responsibilities
Maintain natural and man-made drainage ways in free-flowing condition
Reduce the risk of localized storm water flooding
Reduce storm water pollution as required by federal law
Manage flood plain development
Manage the municipal drainage utility system.
Storm Water Permitting
The City is an active participant in the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) program of Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). MS4 is a conveyance or system of conveyances that is:
Owned by a state, city, town, village, or other public entity that discharges to waters of the U.S.
Designed or used to collect or convey storm water (including storm drains, pipes, ditches, etc.)
Not a combined sewer and not part of a Publicly Owned Treatment Works (sewage treatment plant).
