The Water Utility Division is responsible for providing safe drinking water to the citizens of Rowlett. We store and distribute the water for the City of Rowlett.
The City purchases potable water from the North Texas Municipal Water District, which treats the water for public use, then sends the water from their plant in Wylie to Rowlett. The Water District’s primary water source is Lake Lavon. The water is pumped into the City’s distribution system and elevated tower.
