The City of Rowlett Goes Green!
The Rowlett City Council approved a Green Building Program on February 6, 2008, by adopting Ordinance 004-08 (PDF) details the minimum standards required for all single-family residential buildings and structures and the Environmental Protection Agency Energy Star Standards for all residential buildings and structures in the City of Rowlett. All residential buildings built after February 5, 2008, must be certified as Energy Star compliant. By visiting the Official Energy Star website, you will be able to find out more about the new Energy Star program.
The Residential Green Building Program sets the minimum standards for energy efficiency, conservation of water, indoor air quality and waste recycling for single-family residential buildings.
