APRIL EVENTS!!So many events all on one day - Saturday, April 24! Is your thing cleaning - sign up for the Team Up to Clean Up event sponsored by Keep Rowlett Beautiful from 9am to 1pm!
Have your kids wanted to go fishing? Next Saturday will be the perfect time to take them. Kid Fish is at Community Park at 9am and then hang around to participate in or watch the Cardboard Boat Regatta - fun for all!
And don't forget to gather all of those outdated or unused pharmaceuticals to drop off at our annual DEA National Take Back Day! See you at one of these great events!

Keep Rowlett Beautiful and Life Message are sponsoring this event on Saturday, May 8 from 9am to 1pm. Bring your old electonics and documents you need shredded to the Rowlett High School parking lot located at 4700 President George Bush Highway.
If you are bringing documents to shred - come early as trucks fill up fast! There is a limit of 3 boxes sized 10" x 12" x 15" and a small fee of $5 for each box over 3. (Please remove binder clips, paper clips and staples ahead of time!) Donations are always appreciated, if you can. Fire Station 2 UpdateBig progress at the new Fire Station on Schrade Rd. this week - the living quarters and storm shelter walls were sheet rocked, wood trusses were installed, and the roofing has started! We are excited to see the Station coming along!

Join us in recognizing these outstanding men and women of the Communications Division during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week! They are the voice of 9-1-1 and the first public safety officials a citizen speaks to in a moment of crisis. Communications Officers are highly trained specialist capable of quickly and efficiently getting a citizen the necessary police, fire or medical assistance needed. They are on duty 24/7, 7 days a week, 365 days a year - so the next time you have to call 9-1-1, give thanks for that calm, reassuring voice on the other end of the phone!
The Police and Fire Departments of Rowlett, as well as its citizens, are very fortunate to be served by such professionals! Tell a dispatcher THANKS!

The Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) has recently announced that all adults will be eligible for COVID vaccinations.
Anyone age 18 or older can get the COVID vaccine without an appointment at Garland's Public Health Clinic at 206 Carver Drive from 7:30am to 5:30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday next week (week of April 19). **The Garland Health Department will host a drive-through vaccination event at the Garland Fire Training Facility, 1500 Highway 66, 9am to 1pm on Saturday, April 17. To better manage traffic flow, eveyone is asked to take Commerce St. off of Centerville Rd. to access the facility (see map).
