State of the City

Mayor’s State of the City Address Rescheduled for Wednesday, January 12

Mayor Tammy Dana-Bashian will present her annual address at the Rowlett Chamber of Commerce Luncheon Wednesday, January 12. The address will also be carried live on the City of Rowlett,Texas Facebook page. Normally presented at the first regular City Council meeting in January, the State of the City Address was postponed this year due to key production staff illness. We encourage everyone to attend or watch to hear her report on the City’s numerous 2021 accomplishments as well as the outlook going forward for 2022! Register to attend the Rowlett Area Chamber & Visitor Center Luncheon

Christmas Tree Disposal

Christmas trees may be placed out for pickup by FCC on your normal trash collection day, please remove all decorations. Place trees 7' or under by polycarts, taller trees go out front with your bulk trash.

Free Arts & Humanities Commission 2022 Calendars are Now Available!

Beautiful images sourced from the commission’s annual Young Artists’ Exhibit and the annual Photography Contests are utilized to create these wonderful calendars, which are all about Rowlett! Available at the Rowlett Community Centre, Chamber of Commerce, City Hall and the Rowlett Public Library, these calendars are a wonderful celebration of the creativity and artistic talent represented throughout our community.

Rowlett Bond Committee

Do you have an interest in improving the City of Rowlett by participating in the Capital projects process? Well, here’s your chance - the City Council is now accepting applications from residents who wish to serve on the ad hoc Bond Committee! This is an opportunity to help prioritize the projects you feel are needed throughout our community for inclusion in future bond elections - the ad hoc Bond Committee will be made up of Rowlett citizens just like you who are interested in improving the amenities and infrastructure in our City. The committee will provide recommendations to the City Council regarding capital projects priorities, selection, guiding values for planning, and slating projects for bond elections. Deadline to apply is January 28.

Server Maintenance

Planned server maintenance beginning at 6pm, Friday January 14 will affect weekend operations in several City facilities including the Rowlett Public Library, Animal Shelter and Community Centre.

City Facilities Closed in Observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday 
Monday, January 17

City facilities, including City Hall, Municipal Court, Rowlett Community Centre, Library and the Animal Shelter will be closed on Monday, January 17 in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday.
Trash pickup will run on its regular schedule.
