Rowlett Animal Shelter Undergoing Renovations Beginning Monday, 1/31! Your patience is appreciated while we bring exciting updates to the Rowlett Animal Shelter facility. The front area of the Rowlett Animal Shelter will be undergoing renovations beginning January 31. The project is expected to last 8 weeks. During this time... - the lobby area of the shelter is closed to the public and administrative operations will temporarily move to the Community Development building located at 5702 Rowlett Road.
- Animal Services operations will not be affected – all the animals will continue to receive the same exemplary level of love and care staff has always showered upon them while they are guests in our shelter.
- All animals are posted on the City of Rowlett Animal Services Facebook page and may be seen in person by appointment only. Please call the Animal Services team at 972-412-6219 Monday - Saturday 10am to 5pm.
- If you have an animal emergency, please call 911.
- New volunteer opportunities will be on hold. If you are interested in volunteering with Animal Services, please check back around March 31. We LOVE our volunteers!

What’s going on with this building? Located on SH66 behind Panda Express and east of Sprouts, it was originally planned to be a 24-Hour Fitness. However, following their bankruptcy proceedings in 2021, this location was no longer part of the 24-Hour Fitness growth plan. It is currently being finished out as shell building to be able to accommodate multiple users or another similar use.
