Reception Honoring Mayor Tammy Dana-Bashian Tuesday, February 15 @ 7pm Rowlett City Hall, 4000 Main Street Mayor Tammy Dana-Bashian is relocating to a different state and has therefore formally resigned her position as Mayor of Rowlett, effective February 28, 2022. Please join us for a reception as we celebrate her immeasurable contributions to the Rowlett community over the past 10 years. Tammy began her service on the Rowlett City Council in 2013, and subsequently held the role of Deputy Mayor Pro Tem and Mayor Pro Tem. She has been our Mayor since 2017. Among her many contributions, Mayor Dana-Bashian has guided our community through unprecedented weather events and a global pandemic; successfully advocated for Rowlett citizens with the North Texas Municipal Water District to implement more equitable water rates; facilitated a voice for citizens who never felt they had one in our community; and provided strong financial stewardship throughout her tenure. We wish Mayor Tammy all the best as she begins this new chapter in her life!

Animal Shelter Renovations Underway Renovations to the shelter facility are moving along nicely, the project is anticipated to last about 8 weeks. It has been a whirlwind for the Animal Services team but our citizens’ patience and support has been amazing! During the renovation… - The lobby area of the shelter is closed to the public and administrative operations will temporarily move to the Community Development building located at 5702 Rowlett Road.
- Animal Services operations will not be affected – all the animals will continue to receive the same exemplary level of love and care staff has always showered upon them while they are guests in our shelter.
- All animals are posted on the City of Rowlett Animal Services
- Facebook page and may be seen in person by appointment only. Please call the Animal Services team at 972-412-6219 Monday - Saturday 10am to 5pm.
- New volunteer opportunities will be on hold. If you are interested in volunteering with Animal Services, please check back around March 31. We LOVE our volunteers:
- If you have an animal emergency, please call 911.
We appreciate your patience and apologize in advance for any inconvenience – stay tuned for updates and an invitation to our public unveiling once the renovations are complete.
