Rowlett Animal Shelter is at Code Red Status Rowlett residents have really shown their love for our guests lately, we had a large number of adoptions in the past weeks! However those empty kennels are immediately becoming occupied once again. Animal Services staff is working hard to find adoptive families looking for their new furry BFF! There are also several long-time guests, including Ginger and Zeke. These kids have tenure and are amazing dogs, but will require more time to become comfortable with a new family. They truly are staff and volunteer favorites. Moore is AWESOME, but is a very bright guy. He wants a family but doesn't want to share with other dogs. Charlee is with us of no fault of her own. Her owner unexpectedly passed away and had no one to care for her. She doesn't like to share her people, but does absolutely love people. Sam is a lover. She doesn't care for other female dogs, but is a teddy bear. Stella doesn't want to share with other female dogs, but has been great with male dogs and did great with small dogs at a volunteer's home. Check out videos featuring each one here… This is a small section of what the team is currently caring for. We know that there are happy homes and wonderful families just waiting to welcome one of these special dogs. More info…

World Water Day – Celebrate by Tracking YOUR Usage with Rowlett’s AMI Tool Tuesday was World Water Day, created by the United Nations to highlight the importance of our most precious and limited resource – water! Here in Rowlett, you’ve got a great tool right at your fingertips to help you save water AND $$ - higher water usage leads to higher water bills. This is especially true during the spring and summer months when we're all watering our yards and increasing the amount of water used on foundation watering. With the AMI system, YOU have access to hourly usage data so you can track how much water your household is using and when, and even set alerts so you can catch a leak before it gets out of hand! More info… Visit www.watermyyard.org or www.wateriq.org for tips on how to accurately water your yard and avoid overwatering.
