Crews Repair Water Main Break

Public works crews worked on a 12” water main break on Dalrock Road Monday morning from 9:00 am through Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm. The main was isolated so no customers were out of water, although it did have to be re-routed due to its proximity to a sewer main. Public Works crews were split into two shifts due to the length of time, and Street Department staff also assisted in signage and cleanup during the event.

Rowlett RFD to the Rescue!

A citizen blew out a tire on a very heavy trailer on Princeton Rd Tuesday. He didn’t have the tools to change it, so the crew from Station 3 stepped in to help! They were able to change the tire for him using the department’s state-of-the-art Hurst tools. This was our citizen’s first interaction with the Fire Department and he said “this right here is what makes America great!”  Thank you for the kind words, sir - and thank you to these firefighters for helping out a citizen in need.  This is what makes Rowlett great!

They toured the new $4.7M Hybrid Operating Room, which brings together the best  surgical and interventional technologies to enhance the partnership with BSW The Heart Hospital-Plano. A hybrid OR facilitates the performance of diverse operations on the same patient at the same time by combining a traditional operating room with an image-guided interventional suite. This new OR will really advance delivery of cardiovascular care in the area! Multiple service lines continue to expand including cardio, orthopedic, neuroscience and women’s services, making this a top care facility in the eastern DFW region.

Spring Ballfield Maintenance is Underway!

Spring weather is here, and so is the rain. The northeast parks crew has been working hard to make ensure the fields are ready for practices and games after each storm. The crew work on pumping the water off of the fields, opening them up and "letting them breathe", so the sunshine and wind dries them out, and then potentially add more dry dirt to the field if needed.

Check out the before and after of this process below!
