Early Voting Begins Monday, April 25The General/Special Election is Saturday, May 7, Early Voting runs April 25-May 3. Positions on the ballot are Mayor and Councilmembers Place 1, 2, 4 & 6. - Dallas County residents can vote at the City Hall Annex Conference Room 4004 Main Street, Rowlett (or any Dallas County Early Vote Center location).

Citywide Road Condition Inventory Underway The Department recently kicked off a project to inventory the condition of all roads maintained by the City. This inventory will help identify and prioritize future streets projects. Roadway Asset Services, LLC (RAS) was contracted to perform this study - RAS is a nationwide firm that provides professional asset management and mobile data collection services to local and state government agencies. Specifically, their vehicles possess digital cameras that will collect imagery on all pavement and above ground, transportation-related assets located within the right-of-way. This imagery will be used to create a digital image inventory. To collect all relevant data, the vehicles will be traveling all roads and alleys within Rowlett, and to ensure the highest quality of data and imagery, the vehicles will only collect data during daylight hours. National Prescription Drug Take-Back DaySaturday, April 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Rowlett Community Center (RCC), 5300 Main Street. Drop off your expired, unwanted, or unused prescription drugs to a Rowlett Police Officer. This is a collaborative effort with state and local law enforcement agencies coordinated by the Drug Enforcement Agency focused on removing potentially dangerous controlled substances from our nation’s medicine cabinets.

Lakeland Heights Neighborhood Reconstruction
|

|
Utility contractors continued the installation of the new water mainline on Kyle Rd and have completed all the services for the homes on Kyle Rd. The contractor installed some additional mainline and pressure tested the new waterline. Crews have been constructing storm sewer inlet boxes.

SH66 East Sanitary Sewer Line Project
Contractors resumed installation of the 30-inch sanitary sewer line. Two more manholes were replaced and an additional 320 linear feet of pipe was placed in the ground. The creek aerial crossing is expected to be constructed next week.
