Pride Month Proclamation Mayor Blake Margolis presented a Proclamation at Tuesday night's City Council Meeting recognizing the month of June 2022 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) “Pride Month”. The City of Rowlett is committed to supporting visibility, dignity, and equity for ALL people in our diverse community; and calls upon the people of this municipality to embrace this principle and work to eliminate prejudice everywhere it exists. Celebrating Pride Month brings awareness to and provides support and advocacy for Rowlett’s LGBTQ community and is an opportunity to engage in dialogue to strengthen alliances, embrace differences, and advance equal rights.
The water tower will be lit in PRIDE colors on Tuesday, June 28 in recognition of our LGBTQ+ community members whose influential and lasting contributions to our City play a vital role in making Rowlett THE place to live, work and play.

RPD Featured on A&EThe Rowlett Police Department’s investigation into the murder of Laura Grillo, a VIPS member (Volunteer in Police Services) was featured on A&E, Thursday, June 9.
Our department engaged in an intense investigation, where everyone from the first responding officers who took care of the immediate crime scene, to the Rowlett Criminal Investigation’s Division that led the efforts in the months and months to come, set forth with the mission to bring her killer to justice.
This case resulted in multiple capital murder convictions and is a great example of the incredible work done by the Rowlett PD TEAM.
