Summer Concert Series Continues…Tonight's band is Sons of Bocephus – A Tribute to Hank Jr.Scoop up the kids, grab a blanket and head on down to Main Street to unwind and have some fun in The Village of Rowlett Downtown Friday nights in August @ 7:30pm. Women’s Equality Day
At our last City Council Meeting, August 26, 2022, was recognized by proclamation as Women's Equality Day in the City of Rowlett. The water tower will be lit in purple on this day, which commemorates the certification of the 19th amendment in 1920 granting women the right to vote.

Highlights include a reduction to the City tax rate and the addition of several Police Officers. The FY2023 Proposed Budget takes into account available resources and allocates revenues to the highest strategic priorities identified in the City’s 2018 Strategic Plan. These priorities guided the development of the FY2023 Proposed Budget. Highlights include the addition of eight new police officers! - Public Hearing on the ad valorem tax rate for Fiscal Year 2023 will be held during the regular City Council Meeting on Tuesday, September 20.
- The City Council will vote to approve an ordinance formally adopting the Fiscal Year 2023 Budget during the Special City Council Meeting on Wednesday, September 21.
- Fiscal Year 2023 begins October 1, 2022.

City Offices & Facilities Closed on Labor Day
All City offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, September 5 for the Labor Day holiday.
FCC will not conduct trash/recycle/bulk collection, services will be postponed by one day all week due to the holiday.

Code Red Continues at the Rowlett Animal Shelter - Come Meet Lacey! Breed: Boxer Mix Age: 2 Years Gender: Female Color: Brown/White Spayed: No
Lacey is such a DOLL! She was found on June 21 running free in the Waterview area. She gave Animal Services staff a workout and kept them on the chase for two hours. It was all just a game to her, Lacey is an absolute sweetheart and is incredibly friendly. Lakeland Heights Neighborhood Reconstruction
Tiseo Paving Company finished installing the concrete for the south side of Kyle Road. Driveway prep has begun. The west side of Lisa Drive was poured this week, so now all of the roadway pavement is complete. The lime and cement treatment on the subgrade for the north side of Patricia Lane has begun.
