2022 Pavement Condition Index Results This spring, Public Works kicked off a project to inventory the condition of all roads maintained by the City to help identify and prioritize future streets projects. The results of the 2022 Pavement Condition Index (PCI) report were presented at this week’s City Council meeting. The in-depth presentation shares the new rankings, what they mean, and options for future consideration. Additionally, a new Geographical Information System overlay map with all streets marked with both the 2018 and 2022 PCI’s for each street and alley is now available here. The City Council did not make additional funding decisions at this week’s meeting, those decisions will be part of future bond initiative considerations and the City’s future annual budget process.
Watch the presentation here (Work Session Item 3C - 49:40 mark)… More info on how the data was collected…

ReCode Rowlett Rowlett is updating the Rowlett Development Code (RDC) and Form-Based Code (FBC), the City ordinances that govern how property owners can use their land. The RDC and FBC include regulations that control development characteristics such as building height and form, setbacks between properties and rights-of-ways, what uses are permitted, how many parking spaces must be provided for various development types, and required landscaping. We'd love to hear from residents, visitors, community organizations, and other stakeholders about their impressions of development in Rowlett. Survey and more info...

Code Red Continues at the Animal ShelterCome Meet Rosy!Breed: Mix Age: 4 yrs Gender: Female Color: Brindle Sweet Rosy is a beautiful brindle girl with an amazing smile. Not sure about her past as she was found running around here in Rowlett. She does appear to be house-trained. Rosy loves the volunteers and going on car rides. She has even been on a few field trips like going to Home Depot and Petsmart. Rosy is a little picky with her dog friends and doesn’t like cats. She is heartworm negative. The shelter is a stressful environment for Rosy but hopefully one day soon she will find her forever family. If you would like to meet Rosy, or any of the other adoptable animals, please contact Animal Services at 972 412-6219.
