Charter Review Commission Public Input Session

Monday, November 7
7pm @ City Hall

Rowlett is a Home Rule city and, along with the state laws of Texas, is governed by a Home Rule Charter. Much like the constitution, the Charter outlines the form of government, powers of the City, rules relating to the City Council and their appointees, financial and legislative processes, and franchise regulations. By reviewing the Charter, it helps to ensure that it stays pertinent to where we are as a City and the direction we, as residents of Rowlett, want to go. It is a changing document that can grow right along with us!

The Charter Review Commission has determined the recommendations they will be making to Council in January. Join us to hear about them and provide YOUR feedback!

ReCode Rowlett

Rowlett is updating the Rowlett Development Code (RDC) and Form-Based Code (FBC), the City ordinances that govern how property owners can use their land. The RDC and FBC include regulations that control development characteristics such as building height and form, setbacks between properties and rights-of-ways, what uses are permitted, how many parking spaces must be provided for various development types, and required landscaping. We'd love to hear from residents, visitors, community organizations, and other stakeholders about their impressions of development in Rowlett.
