MSchupp Bio Pic Michael Schupp was elected to the Rowlett City Council Place 5 on May 6, 2023. He and his wife, Kerrie, have lived in Rowlett for over 9 years and in Dallas County for 42 years. His beautiful stepdaughter, Tiffany, 2 grandkids, Ryleigh and Braydon and son-in-law Ben Doolan live in Wylie. His stepson Nolan and granddaughters Olivia and Abigail live in El Paso. He and his wife are members of the Rowlett First United Methodist Church. Michael will be retiring at the end of 2023.  He and his wife plan on making Rowlett their retirement home.  

Mr. Schupp received his B.S. in Agronomy from the Ohio State University and has worked his entire career in the “green” industry in roles as diverse as golf course construction and environmental remediation and habitat restoration. He has held many leadership positions in private industry and has a strong background in business management. He has managed large teams of professionals and focuses on developing meaningful processes and a high degree of accountability.

Michael has been involved with several boards and commissions over the past few years. Prior to being elected, he served as Vice Chair on the Rowlett Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, where he developed new events for the residents of Rowlett. He was also on the 2022-23 Community Investment Program Task Force. Through the efforts of this task force, the top three capital improvement projects were identified and put on the May 6th ballot, where they all passed. Michael was also part of the 2022-23 Charter Review Commission which suggests updates to the City Charter. All six of the suggested Charter amendments were approved at the May 6, 2023 election.

In his spare time, he is an avid golfer and enjoys growing and propagating native Texas plants.
