How do I contest the appraised value of my property?

Appraisal valuations are mailed to property owners by the Dallas Central Appraisal District or Rockwall Central Appraisal District, depending upon which county the property is located in within Rowlett. In order to contest your appraisal, you must file a written protest with the appropriate county's central appraisal district (CAD).

Protests for Dallas County properties must be submitted to the Dallas Central Appraisal District no later than midnight on May 22. If you live in Dallas County and wish to file a protest, please follow the instructions for their uFile system provided at https://www.dallascad.org/forms/protest_process.pdf

Protests for Rockwall County properties must be submitted to the Rockwall Central Appraisal District no later than midnight on May 15. The form used by Rockwall Central Appraisal District is provided here for your convenience: https://www.rockwallcad.com/41061002-4a3b-43be-b99a-3b3c3b44faea
