Rowlett Reads Book Club is February 18! Personal copies of "The Accommodation" by Jim Schutze will be available on a first come, first serve basis starting January 14, 2023.
For non-walking infants up to 18 months. Caregivers will learn valuable information on how to build literacy at home in this 20-minute lapsit featuring developmentally appropriate board books, rhymes, and movement. If children can walk steadily, then we suggest Family Storytime.
For toddlers and preschoolers who can actively engage and listen. Children will learn the fundamentals of early literacy through interactive books, music, and movement. Thursdays are a repeat of Wednesdays' programs.
Participants will engage in hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) activities that bring forth innovation and creativity.
Celebrate Black History Month with activities that highlight contributions by African American inventors and others who contributed to our society. When you finish inventing, you can try our scavenger hunt to apply all the knowledge you have learned.
This month, bring a painting partner to create a completed work of art out of two separate canvases. Materials are provided free of charge. Ages 14 and up welcome.
Who did it better, the book or the movie? This month, we'll read Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly, then compare it to the 2016 film. Registration is requested for an accurate pizza order. Teens (ages 13 to 17) may register at the reference desk or online by visiting the library's website.
