Jeff Winget was elected in May of 2022 to Rowlett City Council, Place 2. He is a Mesquite native and has been a resident of Rowlett since 2014, relocating here after he and his family outgrew their Arlington home. Jeff immediately engaged in a variety of volunteer opportunities with multiple organizations and can often found behind the lens of a camera. Jeff has been married to Elaina since 2006, and they have 4 children.
Jeff received his Master of Business Analytics, Cybersecurity minor, from Texas A&M University-Commerce, Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from University of Texas at Arlington, and Associate of Arts from Tarrant County College. Jeff works as a full-time accounting manager and specializes in financial analysis, data modeling, and business intelligence.
Prior to being elected, Jeff served 7 years with the Arts & Humanities Commission, with him being elected chair of the Commission 3 of those years. Additionally, Jeff served as chair of the 2020 Rowlett Charter Review Commission, as a member of the 2019 Complete Count Committee, and as a member of the 2018 Strategic Plan Steering Committee. Outside of municipal service, Jeff has also served as PTA President and Treasurer on multiple occasions, and also serves on the leadership board at Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church where he and his family have been members for over 15 years.
In his time in Rowlett, Jeff has been awarded the Spirit of Rowlett award in 2018 and was nominated for the Big ‘R’ Pacesetter award in 2019.
Some of Jeff’s objectives through his service on City Council include improving citizen involvement, ensuring consistent and well-planned infrastructure repair and development, and visioning future development that is both smart and sustainable.
